It makes the noise to remind you that you have something happening. Maybe you can suggest an option to mute the sound.

Sack that stupid noise and does it not actually make a noise when the timers up?
did look thru sounds but couldn't see anything so maybe it's to be added, otherwise it's not much use if it doesn't tell you the times up :) lol
